The "Hellenic Association of Risk Managers" (www.harima.gr) member of FERMA (Federation European of Risk Management Associations, www.ferma.eu) & FECMA (Federation of European Credit Management Associations, www.fecma.eu), with the support of "Academics University of London Worldwide", SEV and in collaboration with the "Risk Training Institute" of ICAP CRIF, present the "Risk Management for Board Members & Audit Committee" training program.
Description
The objective of this module is to present, in depth and with a practical orientation, the Role of Risk officer and Risk management in listed entities. The module analyses the requirements of law 4606/2020 for Corporate Governance and provide guides in order for Risk Officers to prepare a Risk Management Report for Board Members and Audit Committees. What you will learn
Participants will have the opportunity to learn basic concepts of risk management as well as the requirements of risk management in listed companies. The critical role of the Risk Officer in the listed companies of Greece will be presented. Special reference will be made to ESG issues and how they are related to risk management. Finally, the issues of reports and communication with the audit committee and the Boards of Directors of the companies and what they expect from a Risk Officer based on the Risk Management Standards will be discussed at length.

Dimitrios N. Koufopoulos is a Visiting Professor, School of Law, CCLS at Queen Mary University, Honorary Research Fellow at Birkbeck University of London and the Director of the Global Online MBA Programmes in University of London. He has held numerous academic positions at Brunel University (2002-2018) and Cardiff University (1991-2002) in UK.
Dimitrios began his career very early, in construction industry –simply put, a builder-as well as a guitar player and singer where he quickly realised that was not good enough. Then, he turned his attention to accounting, where he saw opportunities and potential employment successes.
He gained his university bachelor’s degree in Management from the Athens School of Economics and Business Sciences in Greece, in 1988. Two years later has embarked on postgraduate studies in UK. He earned his MBA at Cardiff Business School, and straight after was employed as a research assistant at Cardiff University, Cardiff business School. He started working on his PhD on Strategic Planning Systems alongside his academic and consulting career.
He has been a Full-Time academic member of staff at Cardiff Business School from 1991 to 2002 and then joined Brunel Business School until April 2018. He publishes extensively in academic journals and every year papers that co-authors are presented in major conferences all over the world.
He has been teaching online and developing online material since 2006; in the early beginning at Universitas 21, then Laureate-Liverpool in 2009, Laureate- Roehampton in 2012 and University of London-Queen Mary in 2016. He has an extensive experience in developing and testing online material and modules; like Learning and Leading in a Dynamic Era, Strategy and Innovation and Strategic Management. He is currently working on the second edition of his textbook “Essentials of Strategic Management” published by Sage in 2012.
His supervisory capabilities have been developed since 1992 and up to now has successfully supervised well above 400 hundred students at UG and PG level as well as over 10 PhD students at Brunel University and currently 3 DBA Students at University of Liverpool.
Back in 1994, alongside his academic career, he set up a boutique consulting firm providing intelligent reports on several business and management issues. In 1998, he set up the Gnosis Management Consultants (www.gnosisconsultants.com), specializing in executive training and niched strategic research. In 2007, he set up the Hellenic Observatory of Corporate Governance (www.hocg.eu), where research on five distinct, important economic sectors for Greece are contacted. Since 2016 is a partner in www.proteas.io a business model innovation consulting firm.

George has joined ICAP CRIF in 2017 and appointed Group Data Protection Officer since then. He maintains under his role of Group DPO the supervision of privacy compliance of all ICAP CRIF legal entities in Greece, Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus. In 2018 he appointed General Manager of Comply.Data (ICAP CRIF Subsidiary) and one year later he joined his forces and became member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Risk Managers (HA.RI.MA). Under his portfolio of roles, George provides taught courses at ICAP CRIF Risk Training Institute (RTI) accumulating more than 120 hours of lecturing in risk, privacy and compliance subjects Before joining ICAP, George was the first DPO appointed in Greece at AXA Insurance (2 years). He has also served for more than 15 years as Head of Privacy, Security and Compliance sectors in diverse industries (Head of Information Security in Marfin Bank, Director of IT Operations & Security in Panellinia Group of Cooperative Banks, Head of IT Security in Wind Hellas Telecommunications, IT/Security Audit Manager in PwC, and Compliance and IT Security Officer in Bank of Cyprus London-UK). He holds an MSc in Information Systems Management, Stirling University of Scotland and a BSc in Business Administration with concentrating at Computer Information Systems and Management Accounting, the American College of Greece (Deree College). He is certified by the Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE) as well as, in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).

Katerina Koniari is since 2020 Head of Risk Management in the Financial Services Division at Grant Thornton Greece. In the past, she has worked for over 25 years in various positions of responsibility (Head of Financial Control and MIS, Ratings Systems development, etc.) in the banking sector and since 2014 she has served as Assistant General Manager, Head of Group Risk Management Strategy Planning and Operations as well as Head Group Corporate and Investment Banking Credit Control at Eurobank. She is a graduate of the Department of Mathematics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holds two postgraduate degrees from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (MSc in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems) as well as from ALBA (ALBA-Eurobank MBA in Financial Services) and is a Certified ESG Analyst from EFFAS. Since 2021 Katerina is one of the 15 members of ECB Banking Supervision Market Contact Group.

Mr. Ploumpis C. Ioannis is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has been in his professional career in the Dolphin Capital group as a Group Reporting Controller. The group operates in the Real Estate & Hospitality industry and has traded its shares since 2005 on the London Stock Exchange.
He has also been a senior executive in several financial institutions supervised by the Bank of Greece and the Athens Capital Market Commission, holding positions such as Internal Auditor (IA), Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors (NED), Risk Management Officer (CRO) and Data Protection Officer (DPO). He currently holds the position of non-executive member of the Board of Directors (NED) in the listed company LANAKAM SA as well as the position of Chairman of the Audit Committee in the listed company YALCO SA.
His accounting and auditing experience totals eight (8) years and he has previously worked as Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young Greece (EY) and as Assistant Auditor at Mazars Greece. His experience comes mainly from the audit of listed companies in Greece as well as from his participation in audits and training seminars that took place abroad.
He is a graduate of the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also holds a master's degree in "Applied Accounting and Auditing" from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is responsible for evaluation in several internationally recognized academic and professional journals in the field of accounting, auditing and corporate governance.
He is a member of Certified Public Accountants of Greece (CPA) and is a Certified Internal Auditor from the International Institute of Internal Auditors of America, holding the CICA (Certified Internal Control Auditor) and CCS (Certified Control Specialist) titles. He holds a A’ Class Accountant - Tax Professional License from the Greek Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) where he is currently participating in the certification exams. He is also a member of the National Registry of Certified Appraisers of the Ministry of Development and Investments.
To his credit there are participations in conferences and publications in internationally recognized scientific journals on Corporate Governance, the most recent of which is entitled "Internal Audit and Corporate Governance at Real Estate Industry in Greece and UK". Finally, he speaks English and French fluently.
