Certified Corporate Insurance Officer

The "Hellenic Association of Risk Managers" (www.harima.gr) member of FERMA (Federation European of Risk Management Associations, www.ferma.eu) & FECMA (Federation of European Credit Management Associations, www.fecma.eu), with the support of "Academics University of London Worldwide", powered by GRANT THORNTON and in collaboration with the "Risk Training Institute" of ICAP CRIF, present the "Certified Corporate Insurance Officer" training program that leads to the corresponding certification after examinations.

The "Certified Corporate Insurance Officer"certification by the "Hellenic Association of Risk Managers" is awarded only to Association’s members and they keep their title as long as they are up to date regarding their membership. The H.A.RI.MA. first year’s registration fee is free of charge for the attendees that successfully graduate from the certificate program.

Description

This program is addressed to executives who are responsible for the management of insurance programs in their businesses. It provides knowledge about the operation of business insurance as well as special knowledge that helps a company in the proper management of its insurance programs. The program presents the role of the insurance officer in an organization, the basic functions performed by insurance intermediaries and insurance experts, while at the same time it offers knowledge on very specific issues such as the placement of insurance risks, renewals as well as the management of insurance claims. At the same time, knowledge related to the identification and management of insurable risks as well as knowledge related to the management of total insurance costs are offered.

Subject Areas

The program includes three modules with a total duration of 20 hours which include the following:
Module 1 – The role of the Insurance Officer in a business / 8 hours
This section presents the role of the insurer in a business, the basic principles of insurance program management as well as specific issues such as claims management and the general contribution of the role of an insurer to the management of business risk. The main topics of the module are:
  1. Insurance Market
  2. Placement of Insurance Policies / Intragroup issues
  3. Placement of Insurance Policies/ External issues
  4. Damages and their management
  5. The next day for insurance executives – special programs & future risk trends
 
Module 2 – The role of the insurance intermediary in the operation of business insurance / 4 Hours
This section presents the role of insurance intermediaries and their contribution to the management of business insurance. At the same time, knowledge is offered that helps insurance managers maximize the benefit of working with an insurance intermediary. The main topics of this section are:
  1. The structure and functioning of the insurance market and the position of the insurance intermediary
  2. Insurance mediation – What every business should know about insurance mediation services
  3. The knowledge of the insurance intermediary and its benefits for insurers and the proper functioning of business insurance

Section 3 – Claims Management & Compensation / 4 Hours
This section focuses on the timeless issue of claims management. Present the basic principles of property damage management and business interruption, while analyzing the stages of damage management and the role of parties involved such as insurance adjusters and loss assessment and claims consultants. This module also provides practical knowledge and lessons on risk management as they have emerged from the history of various claims. The main topics of this section are:
  1. Preparing for the worst-case scenario – proactive response and organisation to respond to and manage insurance claims
  2. Damage management – basic knowledge of damage determination, mapping, negotiations with stakeholders and claiming insurance claims

Section 4 – Group Insurance / 2 Hours

Module 5 – Cyber Insurance / 2 Hours
